  • Awareness Through Movement: teaches—through movement—how we can improve our capabilities to function in our daily lives.  These group lessons are typically simple movements done lying on the floor.  I use my voice to bring your attention to how you move in different parts of yourself and how the different parts relate to one another.  Using variation of these simple movements, you learn to coordinate these parts into a more graceful and powerful whole.

              Instructor: Debra Lerman

              Bio: I bring all that I know to my work: My early years as a dancer and massage therapist, 40+ years of experience with moving bodies of all shapes and ages, my 30 years as a physical therapist, and my 20 years of teaching the Feldenkrais work, in order to help people find comfort, ease, and power in simple human functions. How we use our bodies and ourselves is the physical picture of our level of well-being and potency. The organization or our skeleton and muscles are as individual as our height, the length and tonus of our muscles, and our history. I currently maintain a lively private practice here in Prescott, treating adults and children using the one on one portion of the Feldenkrais practice, called Functional Integration.  I also teach workshops for Physical Therapists, and Yoga Instructors and students in Washington State, Hawaii, California, and Oregon.

The Feldenkrais Method;
is for anyone who wants to reconnect with their natural abilities to move, think and feel. Whether you want to be more comfortable sitting at your computer, playing with your children and grandchildren, or performing a favorite pastime, these gentle lessons can improve your overall well being.

Learning to move with less effort makes daily life easier. Because the Feldenkrais Method focuses on the relationship between movement and thought, increased mental awareness and creativity accompany physical improvements. Everyone, from athletes and artists to administrators and attorneys, can benefit from the Feldenkrais Method.

             Bio:

Graduate of the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts with a Degree in Holistic Medicines, I am a Master Life Coach specializing in Holistic Nutrition, as well as an Intuitive and Energy Healer.

Yoga has been and continues to be an integral part of my life. Initially, I began to reduce extreme stress and anxiety.  As one form of moving meditation, yoga remains a source of physical and emotional health and inspiration. My practices offer a mix of Hatha and fluid Vinyasa Flow, Yin Pilates and Qi Gong movements, breathing and pressure points to remove blockages and cultivate healing.  Aromatherapy enhances benefit and this rich blend of sights, sounds, smells, touch, movement and breath ignite the senses in order to transcend them, taking you to a place of pure joy and abundance.

My joy is to create a safe, comfortable, peaceful oasis of healing…a home away from home…where all are welcome to unite in the spirit of love and harmony and attain the glow of health, joy and ease to be shared with all the world.

I so look forward to sharing space with you as we take time for self-care, coming into full alignment and in doing so, act as a shining light for all to benefit.

The warm up includes intense cardio using hip hop style movements, strengthening, and stretching.

Instructor: Amelia Hintze

Bio:

I have been dancing for 26 years and have been doing hip hop for 18. My parents enrolled me in my first dance class at the age of three and I ran with it. It was in the fifth grade that I took my first hip hop class and instantly fell in love. While I have continued to study ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary and lyrical throughout the years my main focus has always been on hip hop.

Two years after taking my first hip hop class I became one of the first members of a strictly hip hop competitive dance team. Over the next five years I traveled the country competing and performing. After graduating high school I spent several years living in different cities around the country studying under different teachers in different settings, and teaching in the community at various schools and dance studios working with students of all ages for the past 7 years.

Somehow in the middle of my traveling and dancing I earned my degree in Performing Arts from Prescott College. I have strong belief that knowledge and understanding of, as well as respect for the history and origin of hip hop is just as important as the style of dance itself.

Bio: I am a dancer, choreographer and educator who has been working professionally in all three areas for the last 30 years.
